Praising the Lord for your honest, God-glorifying testimony and willingness to share your journey with us. Praying for the things you requested and so much more. And, BTW, bring on all of the SMI—much needed and appreciated!
I'm so sorry to read this, Dan. Praying for you and your family. As awful as this news is though, I'm glad that the experience is bringing you closer to God.
I'm not sure if you follow WTHR news anchor, Scott Swan. He recently published a devotional, The Hope You Need Today. This is an excerpt he posted today:
The hope you need today is knowing God is able to turn your test into a testimony.
Our family will never forget Jan 20, 2021. That’s when my wife learned she had breast cancer. She would undergo surgery and 30 rounds of radiation before doctors declared her cancer-free.
My wife decided to use her stage 2 cancer diagnosis to point people to Jesus, promote mammograms and pray for women who get the annual screening.
God has since opened doors for us to give speeches about relying on our faith in a health crisis. More people are hearing the good news of Jesus.
Friend, the setback you face now can be a setup to talk about Jesus.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
(1 Peter 3:15 NIV)

Jeff and I will be praying continuously.
Thank you, Becky

Thanks, Allen. It really is so far.

That's good stuff. Thanks Kim. I may steal this for my sermon on Sunday
